About the Area of Andalucia

At the fall of Granada, 1492, when the Moorish lands of al-Andalus were conquered by the Christians, the last sultan Boabdil pleaded with the Catholic Kings to keep this area of outstanding natural beauty in Andalucia which he referred to as “the jewel in my kingdom”.
