Day Walks

The Alpujarra is wonderful walking country, with stunning views across the Mediterranean from the higher slopes. We walk between 15 and 20 kms a day or according to the wishes of the group. You will need hiking boots, or strong shoes with a good tread, and a small rucksack to carry water, picnic, sunscreen and extra clothing depending on time of year. Some of the paths may be quite steep and rocky while others will contour and be soft to walk on. There is a great variety of scenery and terrain: open moorland, deciduous woodland trails, pine forests, terraced farmland, and everywhere there are streams, irrigation channels springs and waterfalls. We also visit pretty white villages which cling to the mountainsides where flat-roofed houses with flower-filled balconies overlook twisting steep alleyways.
